Clarence Parr Obituary

Mickey went to be with the Lord on November 21, 2009, in Eugene, OR, at the age of 86. Mickey was born in San Diego, CA and grew up in San Francisco, CA.

He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and was held as a prisoner of war in Germany.

After the war he worked in construction before joining the Los Angeles Fire Department. After retiring from the fire department Mickey moved to Oregon before settling in Paradise, CA.

He was active in the Elks, Eagles, and Moose Lodges. He also volunteered for years for veterans organizations. In 2008 Mickey moved to Eugene, Oregon, to be with his three children.

Mickey's wife of 57 years, Gloryne "Glo" preceded him in death, passing away in 2003. He is survived by one son, Michael Parr of Veneta, OR; two daughters, Lynn Howarth, of Crow, OR, and Nancy Ockenden of Veneta, OR; five grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Bebe Bailey, of Paradise, CA.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Dec 2, 2009 at Olivet Baptist Church in Veneta, OR. He will be interned at Paradise Cemetary, Paradise, CA.
