Cordellia Donovan Obituary

Cordellia Willadean Donovan, 85, died August 18th in Paradise surrounded by loving family and friends. She was born in Elwood, IN on Nov. 24, 1921 to Claude and Josephine Baden. The family moved to West Pittsburg, CA in 1929 where she attended schools in Pittsburg and Concord.

In February 1942, she married Jack Claude Prater and had three children. They moved to Paradise in 1957.

In 1965, she married Hugh Donovan and together, they owned Donovan's Guest Home for twenty-five years, taking care of the elderly and developmentally disabled.

Cordellia loved doing all types of crafts, sewing, needlework, cooking and especially baking. She loved making colorful candy cupcakes at all the holidays for her great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh and sister Leoda. She will be missed by all those who loved her, including her son, Dana Prater and wife Susie of Paradise; daughter Sharon Tucker and husband George of Ruskin, FL; daughter Jacqueline Sautter and husband Keith of Paradise as well as her brother Dorsal Baden and wife Karen of Black Foot, ID and sister, Gloria Darlene Van of Fresno. Cordellia's six grandchildren - Shari, Patrick, Kimberly, Jodie, Kelly, Stacy, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews will miss her also.

Graveside memorial will be held at Paradise Cemetery on September 10th, 2007 at 10 AM.
