Barry Barnett Obituary

Barry G. Barnett was born Nov. 4, 1950, in Paragould, to Billy and Mary Lou Barnett. He died Friday, July 15, 2022.

He was a longtime resident of Alabama, but was currently residing in Starkville, Miss., to be closer to his family. Mr. Barnett spent his professional career with the phone company, AT&T, which he started back when it was South Central Bell.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Ilene May Barnett; and his brother-in-law, Doug Tedder.

He is survived by his stepmother, Cornelia Barnett, of Fayetteville; daughter, Memrie Tucker and husband Jonathan of Starkville, Miss.; four grandchildren; stepdaughter, Beth Landingham and husband Guy of Westerville, Ohio; two step-grandchildren; brother, Tracy Barnett and wife Phyllis of Corinth, Texas; and sister, Connie Tedder of Murfreesboro, Tenn. There will be a celebration of his life on Aug. 20, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Starkville. Per his wishes, Mr. Barnett was cremated and will have his ashes spread at his requested location by a lifelong friend.
