Barry Dale Letson, aged 74, a lifelong resident of Paragould, passed away peacefully on Aug. 31, 2025.
Born on Feb. 1, 1951, to a loving family in the same town, Barry's life was one marked by dedication, faith and a gentle spirit that touched all who knew him.
After completing his education, he embarked on a professional journey that would see him become a respected figure in the community. For over 15 years, Barry was a key employee at Riggs Wholesale, where his work ethic and kind nature made him a favorite among colleagues and customers alike. When Riggs Wholesale closed its doors, Barry did not miss a beat in finding a new path to serve his community. He joined the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) and provided over two decades of dedicated service until his retirement.
Barry's commitment to his faith was unwavering. A devout Christian, he was an active member of the Victory General Baptist Church in Jonesboro, where he found strength in the fellowship and teachings. His faith was the cornerstone of his life.
In his private life, Barry was an avid reader, with a particular fondness for the Western novels of Louis L'Amour. His love for tales of rugged landscapes and resilient characters spoke to his own steadfast nature. Barry was also a passionate sports fan, with a special love for football and baseball. He took great joy in following his favorite teams.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents, B.D. and Lucille Letson; and his sisters, Brenda Motes, Sherry Motes and Sheila Archer.
