Jesse Doughty Obituary
Jesse M. Doughty, 84, of Paragould, passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at his home.
He was born Dec. 21, 1937, in Greene County, to the late Mack Doughty and Josie (White) Doughty. Jesse attended Commissary Church of Christ and was retired from ARDot. He was also caretaker for Croft Cemetery for 50 years and, in his younger years, was a part-time firefighter for Western Greene County.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Glenda Sue Doughty; seven sisters, Orene Cash, Maudie Shaffer, Jesteen Crockett, Dorothy Lenderman, Josie Thomason, Maxlee McIlroy and Linda Beth Brumley; brothers-in-law, Charles Harvill and W.C. Watkins; and nephew, Greg Brumley.
He leaves behind sisters-in-law, Linda Watkins, Mary Liles and spouse, Willis, and Sandra Harvill, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, at Mitchell Funeral Home Temporary Chapel, 2300 N. 12th Ave. in Paragould, with Art Smith and Evan Smith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow services at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Honored to be pallbearers will be Wes Gill, Mark Morrow, Keith Morrow, Jeff Gill, Heath Brumley and Keith Chunn. Edd Chunn and Rickie Jo Liles will serve as honorary pallbearers.
