Penny Lynn Stallings, a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, friend and nurse, passed away on July 13, 2023.
Penny was born on Oct. 7, 1971, to Jerry and Sharon Howard. Her life was a testament to her love for her family, her faith and her community.
Penny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilma and Harold Howard, and Eula Mae and John Howe.
Survivors include her husband of 31 years, David Stallings. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to their shared love and commitment. Together, they raised two beautiful daughters, Emily (Alex) Pigue and Gracie Stallings.
Survivors also include her parents, Jerry and Sharon Howard; her brother, Jimmy Howard; and grandchildren, Victoria Pigue and Clayton Pigue; daughters by heart, Courtnay Kincaid and Brittnay Mossman; brother and sister by heart, Mark and Glenda Curtis.
Penny dedicated her life to caring for others, both in her personal life and her professional one. For many years, she served as a nurse at Oak Grove Elementary School, where she was known for her kindness and compassion. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her faith. A faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Penny found joy in serving in the Children's Ministry. Her faith was an integral part of her life, guiding her actions and shaping her into the woman she was. One of Penny's greatest joys in life was her role as a grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
In her free time, Penny loved going shopping in Branson. Whether it was hunting for a special gift for a loved one or simply enjoying the bustling atmosphere, these trips brought her immense joy. Penny's life was characterized by her selfless love, her unwavering faith and her dedication to her family and community.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, from 10 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at noon at Phillips Funeral Home with Kim Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.
Wayne Higgins, Alex Pigue, Melvin Howard, Kelvin Howard, Mark Curtis, Markus Curtis and Robert Alls will serve as pallbearers. Kenny Howard, Colton Sandusky and Gale LaRoe will serve as honorary pallbearers.
