Helen White, age 83, passed away peacefully December 9, 2021, due to complications from a heart procedure. She was born in Sidney, Ohio to James and Nona Blakely. She had 2 brothers, Jim and John. She was married to Joe White for over 45 years who preceded her in death in 2006.

Helen served at the First Southern Baptist Church in Parker for over 40 years. She worked as the church Secretary and ran the Vacation Bible School program. She was also a teacher's aide at Wallace and Blake schools.

More important than what she did in her life was how she made people feel. She was a Momma to many. She had a way of knowing who needed encouragement, extra love, hugs and to be made to feel special. People were drawn to her, to talk about their lives, seek advice and for acceptance. All along the way she pointed them to Jesus.

We celebrate a life well lived in service to all those around her. Her example of how to love God, love family and love others was impressed on each person that she encountered. If you were in her life for more than a couple minutes; chances are that she prayed for you or with you. Her two favorite songs ("In the Garden" and "You'll Never Walk Alone") are about walking and talking with Jesus. She lived that out daily. Every morning she could be seen with a Bible in her hands having her quiet time.

She was a rock. She was strong and her faith was the reason for that. She was a prayer warrior, faithful, loving, kind and sincere. We know she was greeted in heaven hearing the words "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Joe White and daughter, Betty Jo White-Eberling. She is survived by her 6 other children, 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Foothills Baptist Church in Phoenix (Ahwatukee) at 15450 S. 21st St, Phoenix, AZ 85048.

In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you do what she has done all our lives and just treat your neighbors in a loving, understanding manner. May her legacy of love live on for generations.
