On February 7, 2017 Sonseeharay (Schroeder) Manker passed peacefully in her sleep after battling endometrial cancer. Sonsee lived in Deer Park, TX 36 years before moving to Madison, AL with her beloved husband Gary. Sonseeharay was named after an Apache Indian, who is a character in the film "Broken Arrow" and means "Morningstar". Sonsee was a graduate of Deer Park High School, class of 70 and attended San Jacinto College. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pasadena where she participated as an officer in Lutheran Women's Missionary League, taught Sunday school to the second graders and served on the altar committee. Sonsee worked for Phillips Petroleum at their facility in Pasadena for over 22 years and is a life member of Jane Phillips Society (Phillips Petroleum). Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Sonsee is survived by her husband Gary, son and daughter-in-law Kevin & Amber Mixon and their children Karlee, Camron and Ethan (La Porte, TX); daughter Kaeti Milton (Madison, AL); step-daughter Barbara Sitton and children Maria, Veronica and Jes (Baltimore, MD); step-daughter and son-in-law, Bernadette and Keith Meyers (Baltimore, MD); along with her mother Vivian Schroeder (Crosby, TX); siblings Scott & Ranae Schroeder (Deer Park, TX); Dale & Robin Schroeder (Atascosita, TX); Eric & Nova Schroeder (Houston, TX); Valerie & Jon Foose (Tallahassee, FL); Gloria Sherwood (Winfield, KS) and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Edwin E. Schroeder joining our Savior in 2014. Sonsee (otherwise known as Gigi, Grandma and "Jackpot") will be truly missed. We all know that she will be our Morningstar as she watches over us all from heaven. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Faith Lutheran Church, 660 Gillespie Rd., Madison, AL 35758. Tel: (256)-830-5600.
