Timothy Chason Obituary

Timothy Earl Chason, 45, of League City passed away on May 9, 2012. Tim was born on October 15, 1966 in Pasadena, TX to Lloyd and Robbie (Cruthers) Chason and was the middle of three children. He attended Red Bluff Elementary, Southmore Intermediate, and Pasadena and South Houston High Schools.

His love for the music world fueled his drive to write, record, and release two record albums and perform with several recognized and name groups throughout the late 80's and early 90's. His song writing talent and ability to give high energy concert performances made him a local crowd favorite for promoters. He could often be heard spilling out a rhyme and rapping a beat just to entertain those around him with his infectious creativity and quick wit.

On December 21, 1996 Tim married the love of his life, Lisa Axon Chason. Tim's love for Lisa, their home and four dogs ran so very deep. He would say that just thinking of Lisa and coming home each day would make him smile.

Tim was an entrepreneur and big idea person by nature and beginning in May of 2008 he was the business owner and operator of Propaganda Skate & Bike Shop. Tim began with what was a small start up and grew the business and his brand, "It's Propaganda FOOL!" into a loyal following of dedicated sports enthusiasts. His lifelong passion for skating and biking and all those connected to it contributed to large circles of friends and was a tribute to his own cycling success.

Tim was taken from us too soon, but he loved being a positive force especially with the youth and he inspired many to begin skating or cycling. His ability to view something not for what it was, but for what it could be also gave him an innate sense behind the lens of a camera. His talent to see incredible beauty became second nature in honing his skills most recently in his Propaganda Professional Photography.

He was preceded in death by his mother Robbie Chason and both his paternal and maternal grandparents. Tim is survived by his loving wife Lisa, his father and step-mother Lloyd and Helen Chason, his brother Troy, sister Shelly and her husband Rob Lindroos, Father and Mother-in-law Michael and Linda Axon, sister-in-law Gina and her husband Charles Freer, as well as Aunts, Uncles, several cousins and many, many friends.

Tim spent countless hours reuniting owners with their lost pets, stopping traffic to rescue pets that were running loose, and collecting injured pets along any roadside that he may have crossed. Tim loved every animal that he met and ALL animals loved Tim - they immediately knew they had just met one of the kindest hearts they would ever be lucky enough to know.

Visitation will be 6:00 to 9:00 pm, Monday, May 14, 2012 at Crowder Funeral Home League City 1645 E. Main League City, TX 77573, Funeral Service will be held in his honor 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home - League City.

A few years ago, I got back into skateboarding again, and if it were not for Tim at Propaganda, and his love for the sport, I may not have kept with it. I even tried to start a brand, and he carried my stuff in his shop for several months. I may not have sold a single one of my shirts, but Tim did give me a chance that no one else ever had. He will be greatly missed. RIP Tim Chason.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Tim but he definitly sounds like a wonderful person and I'm sure he'll continue watching over all those he loved as well as protecting & helping animals from above. I'll make a donation in his honor to FFL. They are a wonderful no-kill shelter and I'm so happy that he asked that donations be made to them in his name.

I didn't know Tim, but he sounds like a God send helping God's creatures that way. The world has lost a wonderful soul. I'm sure he's up in Heaven taking care of all the animals up there too. Prayers to his family and friends. What a smile he had. I will make a donation to the only No-Kill shelter in Harris County, Friends For Life, in his name. He was a loyal dedicated friend to the animals. Sorry I didn't know him in this life.

Tim was the goto guy back in the 80's. He always knew about BMX or skateboards. He was two grades above us and we thought he was cool.

Talking to my sister today, he is in one of her birthday pictures around 1986.

I only knew Tim a short while. Went to his store to pick up a $10 spinning part for my business. Well, he didn't have the part, but I left with a brand new Jamis road bike. He opened my eyes to a new sport. I had a few good rides with him, not nearly enough. I would bike into Propaganda regularly, and he would always welcome me with a cold water. Truly a good guy who I will miss seeing as I bike down 518! It's Propaganda Fool!

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Tim had passed away. Tim and his family lived across the street from us growing up. He was a sweet kid and it does not sound like he had changed much! Even as a kid he had loved skateboarding, biking and animals. I got to see Tim again recently and he seemed very happy with his wife, business, and life. I know he will be missed.
