Albert Krassman Obituary

In Loving Memory of ALBERT KRASSMAN JR. May 8, 1922 - Sept. 21, 2006 A long-time resident of S ierra Madre died at Park Marino Convalescant Hospital on Thursday, September 21. Born in Colorado he lived in Sierra Madre almost a half century. He is survived by Colorado cousins Ken, Betty, Donna, Howard, and Gary Roerig. He was an armor, turret and gunsight mechanic with the 706th Bomb Squadron, 446 Bomb Group, 8th USAAF which was based at Bungay in Suffolk, England during the second World War. He called himself a "bomb stuffer inner" and kept B-24 bombers fly 80 missions over Germany. After discharge, Krassman worked for 46 years with Consolidated Engineering and Bell and Howell. "Al," as he as affectionately known, enjoyed sharing his love of phosography and Indian jewelry with friends as well as members of the Sierra Madre United Methodist Church where he was a faithful and beloved congregant for many years. Al is remembered as a kind and gentle man who was always in charge of the public address system and the altar paraments. Mr. Krassman's remains were cremated and will be scattered in Colorado where his mother and father are buried. A memorial service in his honor will take place on Saturday, September 30, 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of Sierra Madre United Methodist Church. Mr. Krassman's familiy has directed that memorial funds in his honor be given to the building maintenance fund at the church located at 695 West Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA 91024.
