It's the time of year that I always looked forward to. Not so much because I loved doing my taxes, but because I would get my annual dose of Art. How can it already be 10 years since you left this very upside down crazy world? I would love to hear your words of wisdom at this very moment. All the best to the family.

Art is one of those very special people that I have locked in my memory forever. It's hard to believe that nine years have already elapsed since his passing. Every tax season I long for his advice and wisdom, and the joy of sitting in front of him while he crunched the numbers on his vintage calculator. The one that spit out the results on the little roll of paper. He would tear it off then fool with his glasses to try and read the little numbers. And of course the customary bottle of single malt scotch on the side table. I can't help but wonder what his words of wisdom would be about this upside down world we are living in today. I think many of us desperately need those words. We miss you Art.

Over the years since 2011, when at a jazz concert, or watching the fireworks on TV from Boston, or watching
skiing from Europe and many other things that happen in my life, ...I have a reminder of my friendship with Art.
Life is so fleeting, yet there are those that leave profound impressions and memories for us to that become
signposts in our lives. Art Waters was such a person. Much love to his family. Te would love to hear from you.

One of the memories we shared with Art is captured by this ski photo at Lake Tahoe (late '70's/early '80's). I am not in the photo; photographers seldom are. Pictured are left to right: Art's first wife (forgot name), Diane center and Art on the right. I hope this adds an element as to who art was,how he shared and enjoyed life.

To the Waters family, friends & associates:
I can truly say I feel your pain for I lost my wife Diane just two weeks prior to hearing of Art's passing. I have been going through one of the most difficult transitions in my life.
Diane and I sharee a couble of skiing vacatios at Mammouth Lakes, Ca and Park City, Utah with Art. I was also his neighbor at Brookside Country Club in LA (late 170's)and we played a lot of bridge. I think I recall Art spoke some spanish so I say to all "Vaya con Dios".
I share your loss also.

Inherited imperfection has definitely taken its toll on the human family, looking forward to the day when there will be worldwide rejoicing and enjoying life without end, at last.

Dear Waters Family,
Our hearts and prayers are with you. Art was not only our tax ambassador but most importantly he was our friend for thirty years. We will so miss his humor and witticisms he was just special. We are very sorry that we were unable to make the celebration of his life but believe us we were there in spirit.

To Te, Victor, Quita, Tami and the
Waters family. What can you say about
the "greatness" of a great man? His unique personality, wonderful sense of
humor, guiding counsel, a legend in his own time. He is missed, but if you
were lucky enough to know him, you can carry a little bit of Art inside your heart. I'm glad I knew him.
Blessings to all.

Te, Victor, Quita, & Tammy
I will never forget Art Waters. I learned so much from Art while working at the Tax office. He wasn't just an employer, he was a mentor, teacher, story teller, inspiration, and friend. I will always remember his words of wisdom, and our conversations about classical music. Thank you to your entire family for sharing him.

As close as I can recall, our association with Art goes back 28 years. During that time we lived in San Francisco, Germany, and San Diego. Even though our documents could have been mailed to Art to enable him to prepare our returns, I made it to his office or he met me at the Holiday Inn in the bay area for a personal tax meeting every one of those 28 years. That annual meeting was something I always looked forward to, so mailing it in was never an option. I needed a big dose of "Art's" great advice, wisdom and humor in person. I can still see the ski's in the corner of the room at that Holiday Inn, and the bottle of Glenlivet on the table. Art was one of a kind, and Nancy and I will no doubt be talking about him until we take our last breath someday. Our condolences and thoughts to the family, and I know all the Art stories you replay in the future will put smiles on all your faces.

I met Art a few years ago at the Via Verde Golf Club and immediately became a fan of his wit and humor. Art, and his long term friends A.J. Carter, Andy Pollard, Joe Swan, and Don Thomas invited me to join their group and I am glad I did. I am so glad that I got to see him last month when I was visiting home from Hong Kong. He was a delightful person and I will miss him.

Words fail me. I'll miss the "reverend mr. waters, sir". He was such a part of our lives. All my life, if there was a financial situation to deal with, someone would always say, "call Art". Mom has been praying for your family ever since she heard and all our thoughts are with you. I can just imagine him in heaven with Bob Dave and Ruth Waters. All together again. I hope heaven is ready for that combo.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

I have fond memories of Art being the only person I knew in the Los Angeles area who could ski and play bridge.

I am very sorry to hear of Art's passing. I met him in 1978 when I became a social worker at Pacific State Hospital. When he learned I was from Philly he asked me if I knew Cheryl- which I did. Art, Victor or Tammy prepared my taxes for 25+ years. I referred every friend i had to Art and they all raved about his service. I extend my condolences to Victor Tami, Cheryl and the rest of the family.

We shared a special friendship. I will cherish always the memories of that time. Art was one of the most loving individuals who cherished family and
was loyal to friends. Te, I remember your wedding and how happy you and Art were together. It was wonderful when you and Art stopped off in SLO and I saw you both. My loving thoughts and healing prayers to the whole faimily.

Over the years, I have had a dear friendship with Art as he did my taxes. What made him so special to me was that I would want to come in and get it over with. He would always want to spend some time talking about what has been going on, and how our families are doing. He could have just been our tax man... Instead he was our friend!. He will truly be missed!
