Boyd L. Higgins

HIGGINS-Boyd L. Higgins, passed away peacefully on Oct. 15, 2010. Born September 6, 1927, the son of William Robert and Helen Boyd Higgins, he grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a young man, he attended Harvard College and graduated with a BA and MBA degrees in business. His military career included the U.S. Navy as a Seaman 1st Class and the U.S. Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant. He later married Jean McClintock Higgins and moved to Southern California where they began their family. Boyd started his career as a Commercial Real Estate Salesman for The Seeley Company of Los Angeles in 1964. He later became the president of the company and enjoyed many quality years with them until his retirement as Chairman Emeritus. His involvements outside the company included serving on the boards of Southern California Chapter of the Harvard Business School Association, Friends of the San Marino Library, Belmont Hill School for boys, Flintridge Preparatory School, Hillside Home for Children in Pasadena, The Boys and Girls Club and his most revered position being on the Board of Orthopedic Hospital Los Angeles. He is survived by his two sons, Paul and Judson, and Paul's wife Tracy. Memorial Service will be Thursday, October 28, 11:00 AM at the Church of Our Saviour, 535 West Roses Rd., San Gabriel.
