Edith Moody Obituary

MOODY-Edith Miriam Moody, Devoted wife o f one, mother of five, and grandmother of five. Edith was born in Gardner, Massachusetts, to Sidney and Miriam Blanchard on June 26, 1943. She is survived by her mother Miriam, brother Sid, husband Brian, daughters Elizabeth, Rhoquel (Jennine), Virginia and Veronica, son William, and grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherine, Heath, Holly and Seth. Edie was an adventurous, bold, caring, helpful, strong-willed, and selfless woman. She graduated HS in New Jersey, and attended Blackburn College in Illinois. Edie and Brian met working at a YMCA Day Camp in NJ during the summers of 1961/62. They married June 7, 1964 and just celebrated 44 years of marriage. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, gardening, cribbage, and taking drives with Brian. Together they raised their children to be strong and independent people.Through her long bout with lung disease, capped with cancer, she showed strength of will and discipline dealing with multiple medications all with a smile, making life comfortable for those around her. God ble ssed all of us with her life, and she went to be with the Lord on June 13. A memorial service in celebration of her life will take place at Lake Avenue Church on Saturday, July 19, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow in the Rose Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Ave Church Children's Ministries, 393 N Lake Ave, Pasadena, Ca 91101-1298 or American Cancer Society, 50 N Hill, Pasadena Ca 91106.
