Florence Bark McLaughlin

McLAUGHLIN -Florence Bark McLaughlin, died June 2, 2002 in Pasadena at the age of 91. She and her husband, Donald Clell McLaughlin, who died in 1993, settled in San Marino to raise their family in 1950. She was an act ive participant in the community and loved painting, sewing, embroidery, upholstery, and especially playing bridge. She was born in Boise, Idaho and grew up in Canada where she attended the University of Alberta. While at Kansas State in 1931, she began a lifelong allegiance to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, receiving many awards including her 65 year service pin. She volunteered as an advisor at USC and published the Kappakeys Newsletter. Florence was President of Five Acres in 1978. She was active in N. C.L. and United Charities Thrift Shop. She is survived by a daughter, Donna McLaughlin Dempsey; a son, Michael B. McLaughlin; two grandsons, Patrick and Ian Dempsey.
