James and Richard came to Bullhead City to hunt quail, I joined them but did not have a license, so I drove the truck behind them as they walked the dirt roads. Both held their guns at a ready and after a short time I noticed several quail running behind them across the road , sometimes times within 10 feet of their backsides. I laughed so hard I almost wet myself. I didn't dare hook the horn to get their attention because James had threatened to make me sleep outside in the cold then I slammed the truck door by accident at the ranch just as he was about to take a shot at a deer. Well about 50 or 60 quail ran behind them on that hunt and it was like a cartoon. We all laughed about it later, but that was James. A good friend.

Dear Debbie & Stephen (Zeke)
I am saddened to hear, from Lou Ann, of Jimmy's passing. Growing up next door to The Hemela's was fun, especially after Jimmy arrived. Viewing the photo album brought back many fond memories. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,

So many memories, too many to mention. Jim had that rough, gruff exterior. He was a hell of a mechanic. No worries when you brought your "pet" to Jim. The work was ALWAYS done, no ups,no extras...Square Business w/ Jim. He could be intimidating, but then he'd get that twinkle in his eye, soften his voice and make you feel at ease.He gave NEW LIFE to our '72 El Camino, and kept our '69 Ford Ranger going when others refused to work on 'em cause of their ages. He was like a Dad/Big Brother telling you he'd help ya if you were mistreated by other piers of his profession. (another company charged me for a tire balance when they knew my strut was broken)the instance of "dad" was to avoid a "selected" type of Gas Company, because it would cause damage to my new engine, and I mean he read me the "riot act". Even when we'd have to surprize Jim by having the veh. towed to his place w/o being able to call him. He never sent us away cause he was "too busy" to help us. NO, he never gave us a discount either, but he work with us cause he knew our budget for the safety of us and our vehicle. God Bless you Jim, you are now FREE from the slings and arrows of life. Love you and will miss you.

Jim, I think our 1965 Lincoln Cont. conv. might have been the first car you ever worked on at A & E Automotive. The Lincoln will always remember you as it continues cruzin. It will never forget the way you could describe certain people. We know that wherever you are there will be a Shepherd at your side. RIP dear friend. Bert and Pepper
