Jessica Motzkus Obituary

MOTZKUS-Jessica Iris Motzkus Our little angel Jessica was born to Jennifer Jenkins Motzkus and Roger Motzkus (formerly of Arcadia, Ca) on September 12, 2002 in Pasadena, CA. She was taken from earth on June 12, 2004 in West Valley City, UT. Her 21 months of life touched all who knew and met her. She was petite, charming, and her smile was ever present- creating joy everywhere! At 4 months she made it through heart surgery and taught us to treasure every moment of life. An extraordinary bond sparked the moment her mom heard the words, Its a girl! It deepened through the hours of holding, rocking, singing, reading, dancing, and playing. Jessica had an incredible love for her dad who learned to be Mr Mom- they did everything together! He lived for her hugs. She was the sparkle in his eye. She was a light to her 2 older brothers, Conner and Justin. They were her protectors, playmates, and her bigges t fans, We love her soooo much! She will be dearly missed by her cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and those special adults who adopted her as their own. The only way to take the sorrow out of death is to take the love out of life. And for our little one, love was ubiquitous! Her wonderful grandparents are Calvin and Judy Jenkins & Glenn and Darla Motzkus. Come share love with the family on Friday night June 18, 2004, 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Hunter 2nd ward LDS Chapel , 3970 South 5200 West. Her L ife Celebration will be at 12 noon on Saturday June 19th at the Waterford School Fine Arts Building, 1480 East 9400 South (Take 9000 S. Exit on I-15 go east to 1700 E turn right), where friends may visit with the family from 10:40 A.M. to 11:40 A.M. prior to the services. Parking attendants will guide you. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association in Jessicas name, 144 South 500 East, SLC,UT, 84102. Roger, Jennie, Conner & Justin,

I am so sorry about Jessica. What a special spirit she is! I'm sure you will miss her greatly. I wish for comfort and peace to be yours as you go through such a trial. I know Heavenly Father will be with you and comfort you. I know that my own father will help you, too. He loved your Grandma Iris and her family so much. I thank you for accepting him into your lives and letting him feel of your love. I am sure he is sending his love and support to you now. Roger, the portrait you did of my dad years ago for the church magazines was so wonderful. Thank you for showing how great I think he is!

Let Jessica's light shine in your hearts forever!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time in your life. Only you and others in your shoes know what you are going thru. My sister just lost her son, he was 20 years older than your Jessica but the lost is the same. I will keep you in my thoughts. God Bless you and your family.

Roger and Jenny

Iwas so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet little girl. I am sending a note to Roger's parents-hoping that they still live at the same address--I was not able to find a current address for you but wanted to let you know of my prayers for all of your family. When you knew me, I was Megan Matthews and dating Ryan. You were both so good to me and a huge support. I have never forgotten your kindness and now as a mother of a daughter and two sons myself, I cannot comprehend your grief. May you find some peace in knowing that you are in many thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

All my best to you.

Dear Jessica,

Come often to visit your family, to comfort and watch over them and help give them peace in knowing you are now with Heavenly Father and smiling down on them; knowing of God's Plan of eternal happiness and knowing you'll all be together forever.

And, if you have time, come visit me, sup with me and share in your sweet spirit of Love.
