John Tate Obituary

TATE -<#1>John T. Tate, Jr., passed away on October 27, 2002. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is survived by his wife, Anne-Marie Tate; daughters, Hilary Anne Tate, Jocelyne and Giovanna; brother, George Tate; sisters, Carol Evans amd Sandra Koeough; grandchildren, Hayley and Donovan. A celebration of John's life will take place at Mountain View Cemetery & Chapel, 2400 N. Fair Oaks Ave., Altadena, California on November 3, 2002, 2:00-5:00 P.M. Visitation, 4:00 P.M. Rosary, Mountain View Chapel. November 4, 2002, 9:30 A.M. Mass & Service, 10:30 A.M. Interment at Mountain View Cemetery. John's undergraduate studies were a UCLA where he graduated Magna Cum Laude as well as a Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from UCLA Law School and practiced law in Pasadena. He specialized in family law. John was a long-time member of the ACLU and served on the California Board of Directors. He was also on the ACLU National Board of Directors. His many friends, colleagues and family will miss his smile, his wit and his passion for the law. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the ACLU Foundation, 1616 Beverly Blv d., Los Angeles, CA 90026, in Memory of John Tate. MOUNTAIN VIEW MORTUARY, (626) 794-7133.

I knew John years ago, so no one in the family would know me. I just want to say how sorry I am to learn of his passing, and would like to extend my deepest condolonces to his family. When I think of him, I just picture his smiling face. God bless you all.
