Dear Friends,
I did not know Mr. Majich personally, but I know his son, Paul. If the proof of a fine father is a good son, then Mr. Majich must have been outstanding! I offer my sympathy and my promise of prayers.

Dear Mrs. Majich and Family
Leo was a great supporter of the Croatian Scholarship Fund, and gave scholarships to the students of Croatia and Bosna and Hercegovina. We at CSF were very fortunate to have known him, for his wisdom and contributions to the organization.
Mr. Majic will be missed by the organization, and will be in my prayers.

Dear Mrs Majich and family,

I had the good fortune to meet Leo through the NFCA and Croatian Scholarship Fund at numerous gatherings around the country over the years. I felt we were very lucky to have a man of such personal integrity, professional sophistication and love for the country of his parents and the USA. He brought ideas, credibiity and good sense to the fledgling organizations.

I loved spending time with Leo because he was such a role model for me: as a family man, as a businessman, a lover of his heritage and of his faith.

We are all lucky to have known him and now the Kingdom of Heaven has been advanced.

Please accept the deepest sympathies of our family for the loss of Leo.

With our prayers,

Bill Cumbelich

Dear Mrs. Majich and Family,

I have worked at the Fund for 11 years. I have always had the utmost respect for Mr. Majich. When I started in the file room, I had the honor of taking his car to get it washed. If asked, I would do it now. I was so moved by his service. I wish I could have sat down with him and have him describe his life and all he has seen and experienced. I weep now when I think of what he accomplished during his life. The world is now a dimmer place without him.

May God bless and keep you during this difficult time for you and your family.

Dear Theresa and Family
I am so sorry for your loss.
I had the Honor to know Mr. Majich for nine years and it took me only a few months to know he was a great and respectable man.
I never work directly for him, but close enough to know he was a great person and a great Leader to make us all special.
God bless this Honored Man, you and your Family.

Mr.s Majich & Family -
As I was getting ready for work on Wednesday 4/16 - the day of Mr. Majich's funeral, I found myself in a very reflective mood. The morning news was on the t.v and there was a story about the Pope's arrival the day before. As I watched footage of his plane touching down in America - I thought to myself....for a brief moment..."Could it be possible - that the Pope is here for Leo's funeral?
I think your entire family knows what a very special and dear man Leo was. He will be greatly missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Dear Mrs. Majich and Family,

So so sorry to learn of the passing of your husband and dad.

"Where DID the time go by?" And YET such a death IS part of living.

I graduated from USC forty years ago this June. Leo was only 42 at the time (twice the "man" I was at age 21!).

When I was managing 2701 Severance, where daughter Theresa a tenant and student at USC, I was like 25-27 years old.

Now I am 61.5 years old. Yikes!

A wonderful obituary for Leo: as you may be aware, often a teacher will "scare" a writing class by asking that they write their "own" obituary right now. What will it say, how
will it read, how much did I accomplish, if anything? Leo's speaks volumes.

I remember at some of Theresa's parties, when the name "Leo Majich" came up, everyone got serious BIG TIME. Anytime I mentioned his name in connection with the Operating Engineers, boy, again everyone knew LEO. He was THE MAN.

What better legacy than his obituary: reciting his education, service to the country, to his nationality, to his church, to his family and friends. Just a class act. A top shelf guy. Talk about leaving us on top, boy he sure did! I guess he was just needed more upstairs now.

I am glad I had the pleasure to have met you and him and kids a few times, along with only "some" of the relatives and friends. There's going to be a SIG ALERT Wednesday night all around your Croatian Church for Leo's Mass. I wouldn't miss it for the world!

Dear Teta Eva - Theresa, Anthony, Tom, Paul & Evie,
Our prayers and thoughts are with you & we hope you feel the comfort of all your family and friends that are holding you close to their hearts during this time.

Uncle Leo was one of those rare men only few meet in a lifetime - strong in thought but gentle in spirit. I will always remember that every time we did meet he always seemed so genuinely happy to see you and he looked you in the eye as if you were the most important person in the room.

And last, but not least, I can never forget how supportive he was of my Mom & Dad. God Bless Uncle Leo - and God Bless all of the Majich Family during this time of grief.

Love,
Nada (Artukovic) & Don Brown

Dear Mrs. Majich and family,
Klara and I send you and your family our deepest sympathy in your grief over the untimely passing of Leo. We share your family's sorrow. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. It was an honor and priviledge to know Leo and work with him for 17 wonderful years. Somehow, Leo and I both felt a brotherhood from our first meeting, often discussing our forefathers' connections in Europe between Croatians and Hungarians. May God give you strenght to bear this heavy burden.

God bless you all.

Dear Eva and the entire Majich family,

On behalf of my family and myself, please accept our deepest sympathy on the occasion of Leo’s departure from this life to the everlasting one.

I will cherish the memories of meeting Leo a couple of times during our common efforts to help the Croatian people in their struggle for freedom. He impressed me as a man with a big heart; cordial and always ready to help others. He will be missed not only by his immediate family and friends but also by the Croatian American community at large.

I haven’t had a chance to meet his lovely family, but probably I should tell the younger generation that Leo was my second cousin. Namely, his late mother was first cousin to my late father through the Bilic’s blood line.

May loving God grant Leo the fullness of His love and let the family be grateful for being privileged to share in his earthly life. Our sympathies to all in the Majich family.

Dear Mrs. Majich,

My deepest sympathies to you and your family for your loss. Leo was a dedicated and committed supporter of Croatia and he will always be remembered for stepping up when times were hard, as well as when it was popular to be Croatian. May he rest in peace.
