Rubardt David Obituary
David Rubardt (73) passed away June 21, 2017. David was the eldest son of Don and Lauretta Rubardt. A Southern California native who grew up in Altadena attending Burbank Elementary, Elliot Junior High and John Muir High School where he graduated in 1962. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and his MBA from USC. He married his wife Gloria in September 1968. The two were married for nearly 45 years until her untimely passing in 2013. The couple made their home in San Marino where they raised their daughter Jennifer. David enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and USC football fan who visit Yosemite National Park any chance he got. As well as being a devoted husband and father, David will be remembered by his many friends and family as a kind, loving and giving person with the biggest smile. He was the quintessential "Nice Guy." He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Corey) Barberie, granddaughter, Caroline Barberie, of San Marino; his brother Doug (Toni) Rubardt of Oakland, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family and special longtime family friend, Ginger Voss. A Memorial Service was held on July 13 at the Church of Our Saviour in San Gabriel. The family expresses their deep love and appreciation for the kindness and support they have received during this very difficult time. In all the years since we graduated from dear old John Muir, I've never forgotten Dave, one of the nicest, most self-possessed people (at an early age) I've ever known. I was prompted to look him up because he and I co-starred in an adventure saga dream of mine the other night. I came upon the obituary and said a prayer for Dave. Maybe we'll meet again on the other side.
