Ruby Blalock Aiken

Ruby Blalock Aiken, 94, of 8919 Roxboro Rd., Bahama, died Saturday, August 26, 2023. Born in Person County, Mrs. Aiken was the daughter of the late Julia Rogers and James Henry Blalock, Sr. and wife of the late Jasper Jonah Aiken. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Henry Blalock, Jr. and Jack Blalock and her sisters, Mildred B. Aiken, Mary B. Aiken, Beatrice B. Lunsford, Margaret B. Rimer, Nina B. Trevathan, Esther B. Thompson and Lila Mae Blalock. Mrs. Aiken was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church. She worked at the Durham VA Hospital for over 17 years.Mrs. Aiken is survived by three children, Doris A. O'Quinn and husband Carl, of Bahama, David J. Aiken and wife Robbie, of Timberlake and Mitchel J. Aiken and wife Leslie, of Pasadena, CA; one sister, Shelby Jean B. Poindexter; five grandchildren, Jonathan O'Quinn, Jason O'Quinn, Jennifer Swain, Jordan Aiken and Judson Aiken; four great-grandchildren, Brayden Swain, Brycen Swain, Brandis Swain and Hadley Jones Aiken; one great-great-grandson, Nolan Allen Swain.Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday at the Brooks & White Chapel. Burial will follow in the Aiken Blalock Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-7:30PM Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of David J.
