William White Obituary

A Sierra Madre Treasure Remembered On October 7, 2022, Dr. William E. White passed away at age 86. with his family by his side. In 1958, Dr. White attended Loma Linda Medical School. He then completed his medical residency at the White Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, (named in honor of his great grandmother). In 1964, Dr. White started his medical practice in Sierra Madre and cared for his patients in the local community for 54 years, retiring at age 80. Dr. White served as Chief of Staff at Arcadia Methodist Hospital and at Sierra Madre Community Hospital. Dr. White loved being involved in the Sierra Madre community. His service to the community included: the Rotary Club of Sierra Madre, the Sierra Madre Historical Society, the Wisteria Festival, the Mt. Wilson Trail Race Committee, and an honorary member the Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team. He was proud to be officially named an "Honorary Citizen of Sierra Madre". Dr. White led a life of adventure. He had a passion for boating, most notably owning the racing sailboat Ragtime, which was first to finish in many races including the famous Transpacific Yacht Race in 1975. Dr. White met the love of his life Patti in 1968, and they have been married for 53 years. He is preceded by his son Jeff and survived by his wife Patti, son Greg, daughter in-law Annette, and four grandchildren.

I remember Dr. White from many many years ago at both Sierra Madre and Arcadia Hospitals. He was such a lovely man. Really help me when I hurt my back and many other times. So sorry for the family.
