Claire Allen Obituary

WOONSOCKET - Claire Marie Allen, 85, of Woonsocket, formerly of Lincoln, died Dec. 28, 2016.

Born in Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Smith) Cummings. She had been employed as a computer programmer for Universal Optical until she retired in 1975. A graduate of Johnson & Wales College she was a member of the Alumni Association and a past member of Veri Dames of Providence College.

She is survived by her son, Michael J. Allen, and his wife, Karen, of Lincoln; her grandson, Jason Allen and his husband, Nicholas Bryan, of Los Angeles; her granddaughter Janessa Bettencourt and her husband, Matthew, of Warwick; two great grandsons, Zachary and James Bettencourt; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Rita O'Rourke.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. in Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln.
Burial will follow in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m.
