Edward Volpe Sr.

CUMBERLAND - Edward Volpe, Sr., 87, of 1 Mendon Road passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, Pawtucket He was the husband of the late Mary (Gomes) Volpe.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Gennaro and Albina (Sassi) Volpe, he had lived in Pawtucket for most of his life before moving to Cumberland 8 years ago.
Mr. Volpe was a maintenance man for the former Blackstone Valley Electric Company, Lincoln for many years before retiring in 1990.
He was a communicant of St. Edward's Church, Pawtucket and was a member of the St. Edward's Seniors. He also served as Cub Master for Pack #22, Boy Scouts of America in Pawtucket.
He loved playing cards and bingo.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Dianne M. Dykas and her husband, Michael of Lincoln; his five beloved grandchildren; and his six beloved great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Edward Volpe, Jr. and the late Michael J. Volpe.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, May 10 at 8:45 A.M. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Edward's Church, 396 Weeden Street, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery, Pawtucket.
