Maurice Carrier Obituary

Maurice "Mo" J. Carrier, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Pauline (Verrier) Carrier for fifty-seven beautiful years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Wilfrid and Irene (Collette) Carrier.
Mo graduated in 1955 from St. Raphael Academy and was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket. A veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, Mo proudly served his country during peacetime. He attended barber school in 1954 and was a skilled Journeyman Barber since 1956. Mo completed an apprenticeship with the former Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co and became a 1st Class Draftsman in 1958. He studied Engineering and became a Special Applications Engineer at Comtorgage Corporation, North Smithfield, and retired as their Chief Engineer in 2000. Mo was a faithful parishioner of St. Cecilia Church, Pawtucket, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and assisted in funeral Masses, as well as their bazaars. Mo was a member of the Tri City Elk Lodge, #14, Warwick, for many years and was an avid golfer and bowler.
Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by three children, Marc M. Carrier of Tennessee, Lynne P. Colizzo and her husband, Paul, of Providence and Tracey A. Lavigne and her husband, Brian, of Chepachet; five grandchildren, Sydney, Ryan, Caleb, Laura and Colton; a brother, Paul W. Carrier and his wife, Gisele, of both Smithfield and Florida; a sister, Yolande C. Carrier of Rehoboth; dear friend, Anthony "Tony" Bomba of North Providence and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Daggett Ave., Pawtucket. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 would be greatly appreciated.
