Rick Fox Obituary

RUMFORD - He always loved a fine cigar, a good bourbon, and relaxing with his family. Classic cars and woodworking stood as some of his favorite ways to spend free time. Rick Fox, dedicated family man and loving husband, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 58-years old. Rick was born and raised in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
Rick was a member of the 1975 Tolman High School graduating class, and graduated in 1978 with an Associates degree in retail management from the Community College of Rhode Island. This led to a career in retail, culminating many years with Savers Incorporated as the regional supply chain manager for the United States East region. Rick worked alongside non-profit organizations and his passion for his job was clear to all who knew him. Rick is being honored by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State as the recipient of the 2015 Legacy Award for the impact that he made on the lives of so many.
Rick met his wife, Heather, when they were just 12-years old. They shared many wonderful years together and were married in September of 1979. They had three children and shared 35 married years before his passing.
Rick is survived by his wife Heather, his son Steven and granddaughter Emma, his son Peter and partner Christy, as well as his daughter Kristen and partner Lily. Rick was the brother-in-law of Bonnie Gordon, Carrie and Richard Coren, and Adam and Ruth Gordon. Son-in-law to Shirley Gordon, Rick is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Rick's honor to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (www.bbbsos.org), located at 1540 Pontiac Avenue in Cranston, Rhode Island.
Following a private cremation, a celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Waterman Grille located at 4 Richmond Square in Providence, Rhode Island. The family will be greeting people from 12-1 pm followed by a luncheon and words from family and friends. All are invited to bring and share memories, photos, and stories of Rick. www.silvafaria.com

I worked with Rick for several years while I was working for Big Brother Big Sister. Rick was a terrific person, a talented manager and a pleasure to work with while I was in Boston. He faced problems in a positive way and always seemed to find a good solution. Rick will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy. Laura Damiano
