Chester Gilbert

CHESTER (CHET) GILBERT Of Moreno Valley passed on to eternal life Sunday, June 15 at the age of 79. He left behind Barbara, his wife of 54 yrs.; Seven children, Tye Gilbert, Guy Gilbert, Craig Gilbert, Candace Nelms, Cindy Futrell, Christine Evans, & Carolyn Riffey; Sixteen grandchildren. Chet was a graduate of West Point & spent 20 years as a pilot in the Air Force, serving in both Korea & Viet Nam. He retired in 1969 as a Lt. Col. & spent the next 25 years in banking & private business. Chet's many awards & accomplishments during his life are honestly too numerous to mention. It is enough to say that he was a man who did not sit back & let life pass him by. But, he took every opportunity to make a difference with his life in his community, his family, & in the lives of people. To all those he touched he left behind a legacy of leadership, kindness, integrity, & love. He will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held on June 23 at 10:00 am, at the Riverside National Cemetery amphitheater. Miller Jones of Sun City are handling services.
