Claudine Mitsch Obituary

MITSCH, CLAUDINE F. A wonderful and loving wife, friend and mother, Claudine passed away on March 15, 2006 at the age of 76. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bill, her children Janet Harris (Tom) of San Diego, Bob Mitsch (Toni Ann) and grandchildren Austin and Libby of Sacramento and sister Diane Jones of Denison, Texas. After graduating from UCLA in 1951, Claudine moved to Riverside to teach at Central Junior High. She met her future husband Bill on their first day at new teacher orientation and married three months later. Claudine ended her teaching career in 1961 to become a full-time mother and homemaker. She was later employed by the Press-Enterprise where she helped produce the Features Section. In later years Claudine and Bill enjoyed traveling in their RV. They toured the country, visiting friends and pursuing their shared love of jazz festivals. An original charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church she volunteered her time with RV'ers In Mission restoring churches and camps for the Methodist Church. Claudine touched so many lives with her genuine and lifelong friendships. We will miss you Mom, but will always remember your wicked card playing, excellent macaroni and cheese, lemonade and homemade gingersnaps. A memorial service will be held in her honor on March 25th at 11am at Wesley United Methodist Church in Riverside, 5770 Arlington Avenue.
