Donald Durbin Obituary

DONALD ROSS DURBIN, JR. Born on Friday, August 6, 1937 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Donald Ross Durbin Sr. & Dorothy Mae (Schmitzer) (Durbin) Breitenbach. He proudly served his country for 37 years as a Colonel with the Air National Guard of Michigan & California. In 1980 he married the love of his life Lynn Joan (Kohl) Durbin and they had many fun and loving years of marriage. Donald was a member of many military organizations; national and local. In his spare time Donald loved to travel, play the organ, write books, do family genealogy and spend time with his family and friends. He truly was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle as well as friend and mentor to others. On Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at the age of 74, Donald passed away at Kindred Hospital of Riverside in Perris, California with his loving wife Lynn and her sister Pam by his side. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Marnie Durbin; daughter, Karen Durbin; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Char Durbin and James and Jeanne Durbin; grandchild; Caleb Durbin, mother-in-law, Nancy Kohl; sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Bill Jennings and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Miller Jones Mortuary, 1835 N. Perris, Blvd. Perris, CA. where a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 11:30am followed by Inurnment at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Ca, Staging Area #3 at 1:30pm. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at the American Legion Post 595 located at 600 South D Street Perris, CA 92570-2105, following the Graveside Service.
