Shawn Billings Kettlewell June 5, 1976 - October 24, 2006 Shawn was born and raised in Riverside, CA. He died at the tender age of 30 in a tragic car accident. He worked in the floor covering trade, but his true passion was music. He was a musician since he was fourteen and was known as "Stroke" in the music world. He played drums for the band Prolific and had previously played bass for the band Contortion. He often gave guitar lessons to family and friends and inspired others to enjoy life through music. His witt and generosity touched many lives. He left behind his 10 year old son Jaysen Kettlewell, his parents Gerry and Joann Kettlewell, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Shawn will be missed, but never forgotten. In lieu of flowers send donations to The Jaysen Kettlewell Assistance Fund c/o Bank of America 22377 Barton Road, Grand Terrace, CA 92313. Services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Akes Family Mortuary, 9295 Magnolia Ave., Riverside, CA 92506 at 12:00.

I dont think there is anything to say about shawn that someone hasnt already said. Like many he was a great friend. When you needed to talk he was there to listen, when you needed help he was there to lend a helping hand, when you cried he either cried with you or tried to get your mind off of it by making you laugh. He loved his music and he loved his family. Its hard to embrace that something so routine as going to work became something very unusal in a split second. As many have said we know hes in heaven jamming with his heroes. RIP Shawn- Forever missed but never forgotten

I've worked with Shawn and his dad Gerry for many years. Shawn will be missed and has left a special place in many of our hearts at JPS Surface-Solutions. I was very touched but saddened at Shawns funeral, it really hit home. What a comfort it must of been for his family to see so much love and support. You are all in my thought and prayers. Jayson, I wish you all the best little man... You look just like your daddy! Good bless!!!!

Shawn will truly be missed by all of who's lives he touched. He was a sweet and funny person. I have never met him in person but talked to him online for a long time. My condolences, thoughts and prayers are with The Kettlewell Family.

Shawn was at one time my sisters boyfriend. I didnt know him as well as many other people, but everytime I was around him he was always very generous. I once went to visit him and my sister in California and he and his family were very hospitable. Ill never forget that. To the family I send my deepest condolences and best wishes. I feel that thru his music his spirit will live on.

Shawn was a good friend of mine who helped me more than words can express. He will be in my prayers daily and my heart goes out to his son. He was a kind and gentle man and will never be forgotten.
