Edward "Ed" Hill Cawley, 88, of Pearland, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents Marion and Audley H. Cawley. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years Betty Sorrow Cawley, sons Eddie Cawley and wife Linda and Alan Cawley and wife Jane, daughter Judy Vinson and husband Curtis, grandchildren; Holly, Randy, Alan, Caitlyn, Tara, Ryanne and Jenna, three sisters, four brothers and a host of other family members and friends.
Ed was born December 7th, 1929 in Augusta, Georgia and proudly served our country in the US Army. He and Betty married May 20th, 1951 and shortly after he received a hard earned Engineering degree from Georgia Tech University. Ed then began working with the Government agency that eventually became NASA. He was heavily involved with the space program and retired after 32 dedicated years. Ed then went on to work as a consultant for Lockheed Martin and Boeing Aerospace for 6 more years. He was an avid golfer. As long-time members of Golfcrest Country Club, he and Betty spent countless enjoyable hours on the golf course and made many long lasting friendships with other members. Ed devoted his time as a volunteer for Boy Scouts while his sons attended and served Little League Baseball for 24 years as a coach, League President and District Administrator. He was elected to Little League Baseball's Board of Directors in 1987 and represented 13 states comprising the Southern Region.
Ed was a wonderful provider, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

A memorial service for Ed will be held at First United Methodist Church Pearland, 2314 N Grand Blvd., Pearland, Texas 77581, on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. There will be a reception to follow at Golfcrest Country Club, 2509 Country Club Drive, Pearland, Texas77581 at 5:00 p.m. Online condolences can be sent to the Cawley family at www.claytonfuneralhomes.com.
