Linda Cooper Obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ms. Linda A. Cooper of Florence, South Carolina, who transitioned on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Linda's Life Story Linda Ann Cooper peacefully transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 30, 1959, to Robert Christopher Cooper, Sr. and Alberta Deborah Alexander Cooper, Linda's legacy of love, compassion, and service will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Linda was a proud graduate of Wilson High School in 1976. She continued her education at Florence Darlington Technical College, Chris Logan Beauty School, and Brookline College, where she cultivated her skills and passion for helping others. Over the course of her career, Linda worked for Florence School District One at Carver Elementary and Williams Middle School, and also for Champus Blue Cross and Blue Shield, from which she retired in 2009. She returned to FSD1 and retired again in 2018. Linda's commitment to her community extended beyond her professional career as she was actively involved with the Wilson High School Alumni Association (Class of 1976), serving as Secretary/Treasurer. Linda was known for her incredible gift of compassion. From a young age, she could sense when someone was in need and was always the first to lend a helping hand. Her love for children and her desire to give back to others were evident in all that she did. She worked tirelessly and selflessly, often going above and beyond without expecting anything in return. Linda's giving heart made a lasting impact on everyone she met, and her legacy will continue to inspire those who were touched by her generosity. A devoted member of Cumberland United Methodist Church, Linda was an active participant in numerous ministries, including the Senior Usher Board, Communion Stewardess, Hospitality and Bereavement Committees, and the Sisters of Praise. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Christopher Cooper, Jr., and sisters, Mable Dial Cooper and Thelma Louise Cooper Muldrow. She is survived by her loving sisters: Angela R. Cooper, Alberta C. Plowden, Myrtle C. (Michael) Brown, and Gracie E. Brooker; her brother, Henry Christopher (Carolyn) Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, and other relatives who will cherish her memory. Special friends who were particularly dear to Linda include Pauline Peterson, Janet Daniel, and Diane Mills-Wright. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this time of loss and remembrance.
