It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. Mark Everette Cato, 18 of Florence who transitioned on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
Mr. Mark Evette Cato, Jr., known as "Ray Ray", was born in Charleston, South Carolina on December 14, 2006 to Veronica Williams, Antonio Harrell and Mark Cato, Sr. On Wednesday, June 1, 2025, he peacefully departed this life surrounded by his loving family and friends.
"Ray Ray" received his education through the Florence County Public Schools. He worked at Palmetto Subs and Taco Bell. "Ray Ray" was a great son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and a friend to all. He was deeply loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
"Ray Ray" was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Viola Williams, Birtia Mae Cato, Laurie Ann Harrell
and Emma Barcus; grandfathers, Wayne Cato, Tommy Williams and Vern Singletary; aunt, Phanta Cato; uncles,
Joe Henry Williams, Sammie Williams and Luther Lee Williams.
"Ray Ray" leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Veronica Williams; fathers, Antonio Harrell of Florence, SC and Mark Cato, Sr. of Pamplico, SC; three sisters, Julia "Shyda" Daniels, Davina Wilson and Marquia Cato, all of Florence, SC; one brother, Robert (Nicole) Daniels of Pennsylvania; three adopted brothers, Tyrik Hicks, Jaylen Evans and Jeffery Timmons; eight aunts, Linda Williams and Jessica Williams of Florence, SC; Peggy (James) Gerald of Marion, SC; Laketra Harrell of Georgia; Latoya Harrell, Lorie Jones and Devonna (Charles) Williams, all of Florence, SC; and Shafonya Cato of Pamplico, SC; five uncles, William Bill Dixon of Greenville, SC; Shantay (Roslyn) Harrell and Matthew Williams of Florence, SC; Marvin Cato and
Shawn Cato of Pamplico, SC; two adopted sisters, Labriel Green and Honesty Myers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Family will be receiving friends from 4:00 PM til 9:00 PM at the home, 1122 June Lane, Florence.
