Dennis Martin
Delavan - Dennis William Martin, 68, of Delavan passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria.
He was born on January 17, 1953 in Lincoln, IL to William and Clara Martin. He attended Delavan High School and graduated in 1971. He married Janice Coggins on November 22, 1974, and she survives.
Also surviving are three children, Cory (Chris) Martin, Derrick Martin (Cari Sundell), and Jake Martin, all of Delavan, IL; eight grandchildren, Rhaven Young, Brayden Young, Remy Martin, Isaiah Young, Nevada Martin, Kylee Martin, Kayden Martin, Olivia Martin
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dennis farmed his whole life and retired from Caterpillar in 2009 after 33 yrs. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas every year with Janice.
In his retirement, Dennis enjoyed farming, gambling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. Jim Watts will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. There will be a meal following the service at the Farmhouse Event Center.
Memorials may be made to the family to help cover funeral expenses or to a charity of donor's choice.
