Arthur David "Davey" Fena

1967 - 2025

Arthur David "Davey" Fena, son of Dave and Jan Fena, of Sterling, Alaska passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Sterling on 21 July 2025. Davey was 58 years old.

Davey, a resident of Sterling, Alaska, was born 22 March 1967 at Kodiak Naval Hospital, Kodiak, Alaska. Davey spent the early years of his life traveling and experiencing the world with his family and his teenage years growing up in Hibbing, Minnesota. He was a proud Graduate of Hibbing High School where his father, uncles, aunt, cousins, and brothers Kevin and Cyle graduated.

Davey was a self-taught construction expert and later became a fully certified General Contract Foreman. Monuments of Davey's legacy and examples of his construction expertise can be found from the spans of Washington State University Library, Pullman Campus, to the full construction of homes, shops, docks, property development parcels, and remote camps across the Continental United States, Alaska, and his home the Kenai Peninsula.

Davey was a loving and nurturing father and an inspiration to all whom he encountered. Family and friends admired his candor, welcoming and genuine disposition, and unwavering kindness. Davey was an instinctive huntsman, woodsman, and adventurist. He worked as a fishing guide on the upper Manitou Lake, Saskatchewan (Canadian Province) for four consecutive years. His passion for hunting and fishing drove him to explore the great expanse of Alaska in pursuit of big game and fishing Alaska's majestic rivers and surrounding seas.

Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at The Sterling Community Center in Sterling, Alaska.
