I am a richer woman for having known Joe and Chiya.

As former owner of TCC The Cabinet Co-Custom Countertops, they paid a visit to my shop and we developed a lovely friendship. We finished all the business with cabinets/countertops and proceeded to discuss corn plants and indoor agriculture, where Joe and Chiya showed me their green thumbs. I gave them cuttings off of flourishing plants in my show room and we enjoyed numerous visits, when they simply stopped in to say, "Hello."

Often, we saw each other at the Sterling Post Office with more opportunities to exchange pleasantries.

Chiya, an avid golfer, always visited me before the up coming Pink Ribbon Soldotna Golf Tournament took place for a donation, for the organization's auction, as I was always happy to contribute.

After Chiya died and after I sold the business, I continued to see Joe at the Sterling Post Office.

I noticed Joe's declining health and as recently as 1/16/24, I fondly thought about him, as I had not seen him in quite sometime.

God bless and rest this wonderful man's soul as I knew in my heart, he was a good, good man.

With heartfelt condolences to his loving family,

Laurie Horner
