Driving by KCHS yesterday, I saw the football team practicing. Among many other things, Ack was a beloved football coach, especially to us big slow linemen.

My memories of Tom were many and fond. From the times my father would bring my brother and I into the Kenai Dairy Queen after the Oilers games to being a student to the time I went with him to pick out his first mountain bike and the pleasure he got from getting out and riding it. You were a friend and mentor and will be missed dearly.

The world is a lesser place without "Ack" in it. I can only guess at the number of lives he touched over the years. I feel blessed to have been a part of his years at Kenai Central High. Without a doubt there are many students who will miss him greatly. "Ack" was a prince of a man.

If you went to KCHS in the late 1970's, it didn't get any better than being a student aide to Mr. Ackerly or Mr. O'Connell.

Tom was a good man and wonderful friend. Always fun to be around. He was family though not related by blood. May God bless him.
