Alexander McCarty Obituary
He was born on April 29, 1975, in Port Angeles, Wa., to Shirley Irene Stadnick and John Arthur McCarty.
As an artist, fisherman, Master Indigenous woodcarving professor, painter, printmaker, and teacher, he left his mark on many hearts no matter where he went.
Alex graduated from Neah Bay H.S. and a double Evergreen alumnus with B.A. and MiT degrees. He began his teaching career at Wah-He-Lute Indian School, taught at Chief Leschi Schools, and at The Evergreen State College.
Alex was a member of the House of Welcome Cultural Arts Center advisory board. He also served as the lead carver for the west entrance of the Fiber Arts Studio.
Alex married his best friend, Alicianne, on Leap Day in 1996 and had two children, Tierra and Ann, and a granddaughter, Luna.
Funeral services will be held on March 27th @ 1pm in Neah Bay at the Makah Gym.

I was gifted a wonderful carved oar, made by this man. I love it and it has a place of great pride in our house. I was sorry to learn of his death. May his journey be on calm and beautiful waters.
