David Hanes Obituary

David Clark Hanes, 89, of Port Angeles, Washington, went to join his Lord on August 30, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family. A memorial service will take place at Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church on October 4, 2025 at 2 pm.

Born in San Francisco, California on January 9, 1936, he acquired an Associate degree in Engineering Technology and spent his career working as a boiler control engineer for power generation companies and others. After retirement he moved his family from California to Port Angeles and six years later was employed by Walmart as a sales associate. He loved boats and spent many hours taking first his nephews and nieces, and later his children on various boating adventures.

Dave is survived by his wife, Diane, nine children and many grandchildren. All who knew him appreciated his quick wit for a joke or pun and his humorous "sea stories."

Friends and family are invited to Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church at the corner of Old Olympic Highway and North Barr Road on October 4, 2025 at 2 pm. The church will be hosting a "bring and share" dinner after the service.
