John Morgan Obituary

John Roslyn Morgan, surrounded by his family, went to be with his Savior on December 3, 2016.

He was born on June 6, 1934, to Irene Marie and Edward John Morgan in Marysville, Ohio. He attended Renton High School but graduated from West Seattle High School in 1952.

He attended Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California, where he met and married Wanda Darlene Forney in 1959. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in theology and later received his master's in theology from California Graduate School.

John dedicated his life to his ministry, working with Teen Challenge and doing mission work in Samoa and Romania. He pastored several churches from San Diego to Sequim before finally retiring from Gardiner Community Church.

He loved living life to the fullest, whether he was flying his Cessna, riding his Honda Goldwing or sailing his boat, all with his beloved wife and best friend by his side.

He sang and directed barbershop choruses and quartets, played trombone in the Port Angeles Symphony and performed with the Port Angeles Light Opera Association.

He was a Marine and veteran of the Korean War.

Most of all, he was a good friend and spiritual counselor to many people from all walks of life.

John was preceded in death by his father and mother; his brother, David Morgan; and his sister, Ruth Bateman.

John is survived by his wife, Wanda Morgan; his three daughters, Lorilee (and Randy) Crane of St. Petersburg, Florida, Gwenyth Morgan of Puyallup, Washington, and Andrea (and Bryan) McCauley of Port Angeles; eight grandchildren, Timothy, Corey, Charissa, Brandon, Meghan, Mikaila, Erin and Jon; and seven great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, but we celebrate that he is residing with our Lord.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
