June and Stephen Johnson
January 24, 2022
On behalf of son Stephen and me, we send our deepest sympathies to Katie's family and loved ones on her passing. We met Katie in 2018 while participating in the RCIA program at St. Stephen's. She was on a journey to become a Catholic Christian and Stephen was to receive adult confirmation. Katie was such a happy and congenial person with an admirable passion to live and grow in her faith. It was an honor and a blessing when she asked me to be her sponsor for RCIA. To stand by her side and support her on her journey was every bit as special and exciting for me as it was for her. Katie, in turn, supported Stephen as he received his confirmation. We continued to attend church together until Covid and then to keep in touch after we relocated to the Spokane area. I remember her wonderful texts and messages with pictures of her precious nieces and cat that melted my heart. Katie often expressed how family meant everything to her and she meant it. Katie was a source of healing for me when my husband passed away in June. Her loving support and encouragement were a gift and a much appreciated blessing at a time when she had her own challenges and was battling cancer. Katie always maintained a positive outlook and never complained or sought self-pity. Instead, she stood strong and found peace and comfort in her faith. Katie was a remarkable woman and a dear friend. She will remain in our hearts and in our memories with love. Rest in peace dear Katie, until we meet again. Lovingly, June and Stephen Johnson
