Nicholas Soha Obituary

Nick was born and raised in Gardiner with his loving parents, Donna and Paul Soha, and sister, Lindsey. He graduated from Sequim High School and worked with Local 32 Plumbers & Pipefitters at Foss Maritime in Ballard, Washington (five years), then found his passion as a pipeliner, working at various locations throughout the state.

During his childhood, Nick played many different sports and developed a love for snowboarding. He grew up in the Pacific Northwest and loved to explore the Olympic Peninsula with his friends on their hunting and fishing excursions. Nick enjoyed building fishing rods, working on trucks with friends and welding.

Nick is survived by his parents, sister, grandpa Soha and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins who will cherish his memory forever.

He will be greatly missed by his many family, friends and co-workers, as he touched the lives of countless people. Nick was a talented young man, loving and kindhearted, with a great sense of humor and an easygoing personality. He could capture a room with his charm and charisma. His greatest love was fishing and the outdoors.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 1335 Blaine Street in Port Townsend, beginning with a rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at 1 p.m. at Troll Haven Bandy Farms, 950 Gardiner Beach Road, Sequim.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions can be made at Sound Community Bank in Nick's name. This account will be donated to youth services in Clallam County.

My wife, Joyce, and I did not know Nick. But we have been close friends of Donna and the Lausche family for half a century and love them as family. So we feel as if we knew Nick through them and feel this deep, heartbreaking loss of a handsome young man in his prime. We love you Donna and share in your loss. Tim & Joyce Wheeler, Sequim.

Paul, Donna, Lindsey, Our hearts and prayers are with you. Nick was always a joy to have when he and Chase were hanging around. One fond memory was a time he came with us to White Pass snowboarding probably about age 12. Nick, Sam Tack and Chase where in deep 12-13 year old conversation about whatever that age finds meaningful. As conversation continued to flow between each of them, Nick, making his point, began his interjection with Well, back in the day....... as if he where a wisened old soul at age 12. In our home we still, at times, began a statement that begins with Back in the day...... always with Nick in mind. Now we will begin with that statement in his honor. He will always hold a special place in our hearts.

My heart is so heavy, nothing makes sense. I loved this young man from the time he was born. It is so hard to think he is gone. I am so sorry for the pain that is left for his family to deal with, the emptiness, the loss of someone so special. The celebration of life said it all. With over 150 people attending and so many of them sharing how special his was. We were so blessed to have him in our lives, we will miss him forever. Love you all.

There are no words to express my sorrow. Nick was a wonderful young man who worked for me for several years. He was my neighbor. But more than that he was my friend. He was delightful, charming, mischievous, and full of joy. He had an uncanny relationship with the dogs he worked with at our facility. My husband and I loved Nick and enjoyed watching him grow into a wonderful young man. We are devastated by his death. I am so sorry Nick is gone. We will miss his spirit. We love you Nick. I hope you have found peace.

Our thoughts and condolences to your family. We had many mutual friends and had probably crossed paths often, but we officially met Nick on Sept.10, watching the Hawks game. He was very friendly and outgoing, and came across the room to introduce himself and shake hands. We were so sad to hear he was gone so young. Take peace in knowing how he touched so many! Our prayers to you
