Charles Conner Obituary

Charles "Rick" Richard Conner, 72, of Lower Paxton Township, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Homeland Center Hospice. He was the loving husband of Carolyn (Trabulsy) Conner, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 11, 2016.
He was born on July 28, 1943 in Astoria, NY to the late Victor and Sue (Dick) Conner. Rick was very involved as an elder in the Lower Paxton congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and loved to play racquetball whenever he could.
In addition to his wife, survivors are two sons Ryan Conner and Justin Conner; grandchildren Alex, Emily and Dominick; and sister Karen Conner.
Rick's family views him as one of the kindest, most compassionate and gentle person in their lives. Despite his health issues, he was always more concerned about the wellbeing of his family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 5761 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to his local congregation of Jehovah's Witness.

Carolyn and family, I was very saddened to see that Rick passed away. I played racquetball against him at Alpha Racquetball Club in the 90's. He was one of my tougher opponents, but a very good sport winning or losing. I'm sure that you are suffering a great loss. May God comfort you and bring you peace.

Rick was a wonderful neighbor who always had a smile and a kind word. We were fortunate to live across the street from him for so many years. Carolyn and their sons will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Conner Family- First, let me share that the picture you shared of Rick is a great one because that is pretty much how he looked all the time. Even when his Parkinson's began to affect his pace, he was always smiling, telling jokes. I knew that if I needed a sympathetic ear, I could that when I spoke with Rick. He will be truly missed, and while this may not lessen the deep pain you are all feeling right now, each day that passes brings us that much closer to the New World...the time in which all of us will welcome our loved ones back in the resurrection!! I hope that resurrection hope will start to soften the pain and make all of us even more determined to stay faithful to Jehovah God. Then when Rick awakens from death, we can be there to say, "Welcome back!"
