Barry Lee Kelly

Barry Lee Kelly, 64, Commander, Aviator, USN, retired, former resident of Pensacola, died August 20, 2016. He is survived by wife Molly Meloy Kelly and sons Lt. Alex Kelly and wife Anne Kelly, Army WO Phillip Kelly. His brother and sister in law James and Susan Kelly and mother Gwen Kelly of Margaretville NY.

Appointed to the US Naval Academy and commissioned as a Naval Officer in 1973. Barry reported to Pensacola, Florida for training as a Naval Flight Officer. After earning his Navy Wings of Gold, he was assigned to his first S-3B, Viking squadron. He served in multiple S-3 squadrons completing his department head tour as the squadron Operations Officer.

Barry received a Master's degree in Systems Science from SUNY Binghamton in 1996 and worked as a systems engineer for Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and Bell Helicopter - TEXTRON

Burial: Barrancas National Cemetery, onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, on Friday, Sep 9, 2016 at 2:00 pm Pensacola Florida.
