Carl W. Samples, age 74, passed peacefully July 14, surrounded by family. Carl was born in Suwanee, Georgia, July 9, 1936.
Carl had a very successful military career of over 30 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the US Air Force and then becoming a Warrant Officer in the US Army. Carl had and displayed all the great virtues of an American. He was a proud veteran and knew the value of hard work and integrity. Carl was also an active member of the Masons since 1971. He loved his life and friends in Navarre, Florida, where he retired to in 2005.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Marjorie; sons, Carl Samples, Jr., Thomas Samples; and daughter, Tammi S. Barnes; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Robert, Timothy and Andria. Carl was one of 12 children. Surviving Carl are his sisters, Mildred S. Evans of Dawsonville, Georgia and Ruby McGinnis of Columbus, Georgia. Carl's family would like to give their love and gratitude to Carl's dearest friend, Toni Kowalskey, for her tireless dedication and loving care to our father.
Memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 11:00 am at Lewis Funeral Home, 7794 Navarre Parkway, Navarre, Florida, (850) 939-5122. The family will be receiving friends starting at 10:00 am.

Carl's was a life well lived. He was a man of integrity. What a pleasure he was as a neighbor and friend. He surely will be missed.
