David Edwards Obituary
Passed away on August 5th, 2021 due to complications from covid.
He was born on October 28,1946 in Covington, Kentucky. He later moved to Pensacola, Florida with his mother and father Mary and Roy Edwards and his 2 siblings Joan (Edwards) Carter and Robert Edwards.
On December 1, 1967 David married the love of his life Patricia (Blum) Edwards. They had 2 children Troy Edwards, spouse Sandi Edwards. Tina (Edwards) Andrews, spouse Scott Andrews.
His children blessed him with 5 grandchildren; Kasandra Edwards spouse Rodney Edwards, Amanda Meade spouse Charles Meade, Trenton Edwards spouse Cristina Edwards , Miranda Andrews, Christopher Andrews spouse Faith Andrews. His grandchildren blessed him with 9 great-grandchildren; Joni, Kaiden, Brinleigh, Trinity, Ryder, Hadley, Logan, Nolan, Tre.
David retired from NAS Pensacola after 36 years of dedicated service and has ENJOYED his retirement everyday!!!! He also enjoyed deep sea fishing, golf, and in his younger years also bowled and played softball. He was a well loved member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he spent years worshiping as well as being a deacon, and sponsoring the youth group. But of all the things he enjoyed doing his greatest joy was "Cattin Arround" and meeting a "New Best Friend" everyday!!!!
David ALWAYS had a smile on his face and a "Hello Darlin" & " Hey Bubba" for every person he met. David was greatly loved and will be forever missed by ALL who were blessed enough to know him.
His wishes were to be laid to rest in the Gulf of Mexico where he spent the better part of his retirement years. His family will honor his wishes by placing him there.
Due to covid we will not be doing a celebration of life celebration at this time but hope to do so in October when he would of been celebrating his 75th birthday. We will keep everyone posted.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Pat, I am devastated to hear this about my friend, Bubba. He took me under his wing as a Father figure when we both worked at Navy Public Works. He was the most caring and friendly gentleman that I ever had the pleasure of knowing. This truly breaks my heart. Pat, I will be praying for you and your family, and I wish you Peace and Comfort in the coming days.

Pat I am so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers for you and your family. I know he will be miss by many. I know Lisa and Jessica will miss him so much as they loved him like a grandpa. Dave was one of the most loved and respected men I think we´ve ever known. We will never forget the fond memories of him as he was one of the funniest people to be around. He was able to effortlessly make everyone else have a good time, always put a smile on anyones face and will continue to do so whenever we think about him. Many sympathies for your loss.
