Dimitrios Fournaris Obituary
1935 - 2009Mr. Dimitrios "Jim" Fournaris, or more commonly known as Mr. Jimmy died at midnight Sunday evening April 13, 2009 at his residence on Southern Court in Gulf Breeze, FL. Mr. Jimmy was 74 years old and lived in Gulf Breeze since the early 80's. He is known and remembered in the Pensacola/Gulf Breeze area as one of the brothers that established the original Fournaris Brothers Restaurant in 1980 that was located on the corner of 9th Ave & Cervantes. Mr. Jimmy is survived by his wife Niki and his two sons Bill & John. Mr. Jimmy is also survived by his two brothers Angelo and Spiro Fournaris who currently reside in Canada with their families.
Niki, Bill, & John Fournaris still continue Mr Jimmy's dream of having a good authentic Greek Restaurant by operating Niki's Restaurant in the City of Gulf Breeze. For over 29 years he enjoyed making people happy by providing a fabulous product for a reasonable price. Mr Jimmy's other passion was playing Greek music with his Greek Band - his instrument of choice was the Bouzouki which is currently displayed in Niki's Restaurant.
A time of visitation will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, on Sunday, April 19th from 5:00 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the Greek Orthodox Church on Garden Street in Pensacola at 11:00 AM Monday, April 20th. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flower donations may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1720 West Garden Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

Dear Niki, John,& Bill,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I always loved Mr. Jimmy and his smiles when I worked at Niki's. He was always up for teaching me stuff about food. Dear John and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Although I did not know Mr Jimmy personally, I have heard many people speak of him fondly on several occasions.
John: When I lost my father in the recent past it was such a comfort to be able to speak with you, hug you and know that you were always there if I needed a shoulder. Although we arent in the same city, I hope you know I am also here for you. May you find comfort in all of your wonderful memories and know that he will ALWAYS be with you.

Dear Niki & family, Jimmy & Angelo went out of their way to make some great food. I worked for the Pensacola Police Dept. and always knew where I could find a good meal & good company. I will always have fond memories of those times.

Niki, John and Bill,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you now. Don and I choose to remember Jimmy as he was when we first met him, and through the years. A good man, a kind man, wonderful musician, a man who loved life and making those around him comfortable and happy, a good father and husband, and a friend to Zack and to us.
We are so sorry for your loss, and yet relieved that he is no longer suffering. He is in a wonderful place, and it is reassuring to know that you all WILL see him again.
