Christmas circa 1984. This was the first Christmas without me because I was in Austria doing my thing but the family used to send me cassette tapes of conversations at the dinner table. I loved those!

Daddy and his faithful companion Oscar. Thick as thieves.

Another memory. This one is circa 1973 in Drakensberg, South Africa. So many great times and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for all of us!

Later in life, Daddy became a certified NAUI Underwater II diver. He loved diving and I gifted him a pair of shark-attractant yellow swimming trunks which he wore with delight at every occasion tempting fate in the hopes of encountering a shark.

The unrelated picture below shows Daddy (circa July 1977) in his treasured Toyota land cruiser, license plate # KKF-196. Too many safari adventures in that truck to remember. Its hoses were mostly duct tape! Broken rear axles, flat tires, steaming radiators, stuck in the mud, plowing through clouds of Tsetse flies and trying in vain to keep them out of the car, catching the 250 lb catfish, freezing trips without anything more than a heat vent in the footwells high into the Aberdares, travelling to Mombasa, Tsavo, Naivasha, Masai Mara, Samburu, and all places in between.
