1922-2008

John Fred Gresham, 85 of Pensacola, died Monday, March 3, 2008.
Mr. Gresham was born on April 25, 1922 in Woodstock, GA. After graduating from high school he entered the U S Marine Corp, where he served 20 years, and retired as Captain. He served in World War II and the Korean War. After retiring from the Marines, he went to work for Allstate Insurance for 25 years. Mr. Gresham was a member of the Elks Lodge # 497 for over 30 years serving as Past Exalted Ruler, and was a member of the Florida State Elks Association.
His parents, Fred and Martha Gresham; brother, Bill Gresham; sister, Lizzie Mae Elliott all of Holly Springs, GA; and sister, Tiny Clements of Atlanta, GA, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; daughter, June Martin both of Pensacola; son, John (Sharon) Gresham of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Martha (Gary) Hurst of Pelham, GA; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
Visitation will be 9:30am to 10:30am, Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. The funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 10:30am for a Graveside Service at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:00am, with full military honors. The Rev. Ken Griffin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.

I would just like to say that he will be missed by many. I especially will miss the times I spent talking with him. He helped me whenever he could and I am forever grateful.
