July 11, 2015

John Stanton Kasic, age 54, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, July 11, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Abington, PA on January 22, 1961. He graduated from Woodham High School in 1979 and attended Pensacola Junior College. John honorably served our country as a soldier in the U.S. Army from 1985-1993.

He was the owner of The Landscaping Company for many years, and his talent in this field could be seen in many commercial and private properties throughout the Pensacola area. John was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Pensacola Bass Association and the Panhandle Bass Club, winning recognition and many awards in tournaments throughout the southeast.

John dearly loved his family and they were always his first priority.

John is survived by his loving wife, Belinda Sue Kasic; a daughter, Stephanie Sue Nobles, a granddaughter, Kayla Skye Conway; a brother, sister-in-law, and niece, Mike, Kathy, and Phoebe Kasic; two maternal aunts, Beverly Amery (George Bell) and Jeannie Bullibant (Bill) and one cousin, Hillary Amery-Forand.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL. Funeral services will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Burial will be immediately following at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:00 AM.

Active Pallbearers will be Dan Cerminaro, Chad Kramer, Noel Arnold, Chuck Mayo, West Calhoun and Richey Cornelius.

I am so sorry to find out John had passed away. I am bit late in discovering this but he is someone who is not forgotten. John was a great friend. He welcomed me to Pensacola when I first moved there. We lived in the same neighborhood. He showed me all the great fishing spots and learned to enjoy the time fishing. I remember we all went sailing and it started to get dark and we lost our wind. We were stuck in the middle of the bay with a big barge heading our way. John was the first one to jump out and swim for help. He swam in the dark to a tug boat who pulled us to
Safety. Most probably have never about the story of how he saved our lives that night because John didn’t think anything of it he just jumped into action. He was a hero that night! He is fondly remembered and dearly missed. My heart goes out to his family as I am sure they miss their hero dearly.

John was a wonderful person, always had a smile. Noel and I always loved to see John come down our driveway to visit. He and Noel had great times fishing and talking over the years. He married my neighbor and friend Sue and became a dear part of our lives. We will miss you every day until we meet again in heaven. Our love and prayers are with Sue and family, John's family and all the friends that are grieving.

John was a wonderful brother-in-law. He helped me more times than I can remember. One time he said to me, "Remember, I married your sister and not you!" which I took to mean...I can not do everything you need all the time...after about 3 years, I got the hint! He always came through when I needed it...He loved Sue very much. He helped my boys when needed. John will be missed and forever loved by our family.

John was a great brother-in-law. He helped me more times than I can remember through the years. One time he said, "Remember, I married your sister not you!" (which meant to me...stop asking me to do everything for you... after about 3 years, I finally got the hint!!). He loved Sue very much. He was a great Uncle to my boys helping them whenever they needed it. John you will be missed and forever loved by our family...

John and I worked and fished together. One of our best days fishing, was at work. We were drilling in DeFuniak, by a lake. We floated out on a big styrafoam door paddling with a shovel. We caught 15 bass, all 5lbs or better! One time at work, it was raining and we only had one rainjacket, John and I wrestled in the cab of work truck for it, till we fell out door, in puddle. Thanx for many good memories, my friend. RIP.

John, it was a privilege to call you my friend. We had some good times fishing in tournaments but my my best memories will be when we would go fishing just for fun. We could just relax no pressure and just talk. Rest in peace my friend.

John was one of the first to visit my Ken in the hospital right after he was diagnosed with lung cancer in April of 2013. Ken's cancer spread to his liver and he only lived for 8 months. I understand what you are going through and will continue to go through. You will all be in my prayers.

John Boy, I will miss you and your picking at me when we fished. Yes, I did my hair this morning and I bet your hair looks great. Wayne and I enjoyed your party each year and we are thankful for the friendship we had with you and Sue. You are well now and with the Lord, Praise God !
