Pensacola - Christopher (Chris, Tip) was born in Pensacola on November 14, 1970 with all the family in attendance, him being the first grandchild of John and Betty Register. He passed away August 17, 2021 at his home.
He attended Long Beach Middle School in Mississippi where he began his love of music and band. Long Beach had a marching middle school band so he was well prepared to start Tate High School when we came back to Pensacola. He graduated from Tate in 1989. He was the first sophomore in Bill Slayton's band to play solo on baritone at a football halftime. Music remained a very important part of his life. He never had formal training but could play almost any instrument. He enjoyed playing soccer in Long Beach and Pensacola but he learned very quickly not to volunteer to play goalie.
He received his Associates Degree from Pensacola Junior College in Photography where he met Luella Peebles. They later married and together they went to Florida A&M University to complete their bachelor degrees in Photography.
He was a newspaper photographer for small newspaper in Destin. Later he was a camera man for WEAR TV.
He is survived by his parents, James (Chris) and Linda Christian, brother Jason Christian, niece Sophia Ard. Aunts Betty Hooper, Jeanette Magaha (Jim), Sharon Christian Barrett (John). Cousins Chris, Dan and Steven Barrett, Matthew Hooper, Walter Magaha (Tori), Zachary Magaha (Melanie), extended family, longtime friends Marshall and Angie Nall and many friends. If you met Christopher you were his friend.
He was proceeded in death by grandparents John and Betty Register (Sweet Nana), Curt and Marie Christian, Aunts Martha Pierce, Edna Earle McKee.
Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Pensacola in the main sanctuary, 500 N Palafox St, Pensacola, FL 32501. Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. There will be a Live Stream of the Services on Jonathan's Obituary or https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/jonathan-christopher-christian
In Lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
"Love your life. Take pictures of everything. Tell people you love them. Talk to random strangers. Do things that you're scared to do. Take your life and make it the best story in the world. Don't waste it." That was Christopher.

My last memory of Christopher was a few years ago when I was in Pensacola driving through the old romping grounds. As my mom and I passed Aunt Betty and Uncle Johnny's house, I noticed a man out back, so we stopped. As he came towards the driveway, I realized it was Christopher! He had been tinkering in the garage, and we went inside the house for a bit because he had been baking some muffins and was applying frosting, he was really excited about those muffins and it made me laugh. I asked him what happened to the turtles, and he said that he had found a great place that was rural, a "Turtle Valhalla" where they had plenty of space to be free. Christopher was introspective and kind, and I will greatly miss his unique spirit. I know that the old folks who passed before him are with him now. I have asked and they've found little ways in the every day to let me know that he's good up there in the sky. I couldn't make it to the memorial, but I will honor Chris in my own way here at a waterfall in the mountains of Appalachia, I think he would've liked it. Much love to my cousin, and healing love and hugs to Linda, Chris and the rest of the family.
